Submissions to imagine IF 2024 India Photography Awards 2024 are automatically considered for  OPPO imagine IF Global Awards as well. The participants have the chance to win both awards should they get selected as winners in both India and Global editions.
All prizes are subject to tax laws as applicable.
Eligibility
Nationality: Entrants must be Indian citizens.
Age: Participants must be at least 18 years of age as on the submission date..
Mobile Device Categories:
The round 1 of the competition is open for all mobile device owners.
OPPO India will provide devices for Round 2.
Weekly winners will be selected only from the shot on OPPO entries and will be announced on the official Instagram handle @OPPOIndia.
Round I
Participants can submit entries as per various categories. Each participant can submit up to 13 photos in each category.
The submissions must adhere to the category into which they are submitted.
Entrants must submit a title within 100 Characters along with a caption within 1000 characters describing their photo.
Only photos in JPG, JPEG, PNG, DNG, HEIC, and HEIF formats are accepted. The submission should not be smaller than 1000 pixels in width, and the size of a single photo should be larger than 1M and not exceed 20M.
Round II: Photo Story
Entrants must submit a photo story comprising a minimum of 5 photos and maximum of 10 photos in any one category.
Entrants must submit a title within 100 characters along with a caption within 1000 characters for the overall photo story. The title must be indicative of what the photo symbolises or is capturing. The caption must be an elaboration of the idea and sensibility that it is seeking to convey.
Only photos in JPG, JPEG, PNG, DNG, HEIC, and HEIF formats are accepted. The submission should not be smaller than 1000 pixels in width, and the size of a single photo should be larger than 1M and not exceed 20M.

Permission
Participants must have the necessary permissions, including model releases, for any recognizable individuals/brands/ any such entity featured in their photos.
Originality
All submitted photos must be original works created by the entrant, and they should not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Submission rules
Entries must be original works, shot on smartphone only. Photos that have been published or posted in other photography competitions or public media for profit, or photos that have won awards in other competitions are not eligible.
Submission channel
Submissions can be made through the official OPPO imagine IF India website (https://imagine-if.oppo.com/in/).
To submit your entry on the OPPO imagine IF India website, you need to log in to your OPPO account and authorize us to use your OPPO account to identify you, so that you can upload, view, and manage your entry. Therefore, we will collect your OPPO account ID, OPPO account nickname, and OPPO account profile picture. We will provide you with the appropriate services according to the country or region where your OPPO account is located. By entering the competition, entrants accept and agree to the privacy policy on the official OPPO imagine IF India website (https://www.oppo.com/in/privacy/).
Submission deadline
All entries for Round 1 must be submitted before June 15, 2024. (midnight IST)
Any entries submitted after the deadline will not be considered for evaluation to ensure fairness in the competition.
Submission guideline
Entry submission is free.
Participants upload their entries and choose any suitable category for each entry. The entrants must submit works that fit the category that they have chosen.
The number of entries each user can submit is limited to a maximum of 13 for Round 1 and between 5 to 10 in Round II in each category. A single photo is considered one entry, and uploading single images with repeated or overly similar content is not allowed. The entrants are allowed to submit the same photo to different categories, but each submission will be counted as a separate entry.
The entries must be original images with verifiable EXIF data. If there is any dispute on the intellectual property rights such as copyright, and the original photo can’t be provided, the organizer has the right to disqualify the entry.
Participants’ submissions must not be derogatory, offensive, threatening, defamatory, disparaging, libellous or contain any content that is inappropriate, sexual, profane, tortuous, slanderous, discriminatory, or promotes hatred or harm against any group or person, contain any illegal information of a political, pornographic, or violent nature or which may be deemed to support terrorism, or include any disparaging remarks relating to a third party, or is disruptive to public social order and morality. Entries that violate the above-mentioned rules will not be displayed or judged.
To encourage participation from young photographers aged 18 to 24, the competition has established the OPPO imagine IF Youth Special Award (this category is only available in Global Awards). Entries should be submitted under the Youth Special category, each entry with a single photo and the subject is not limited. Entrants must be within the specified age range at the time of submission. When being considered for this award, winners will be required to submit proof of age. This award is separate from the other competition categories, and qualified entrants for the award may also concurrently submit entries to other categories.
Specific requirements of the entries
The photos should not be altered in any desktop image processing program such as Photoshop and Lightroom. Moderate post-processing on the photos is permissible, such as adjusting the brightness, contrast, white balance, saturation, etc. Composite images that change the original content of the photo are not acceptable. Complete EXIF data must be retained.

In order to provide services such as entrant identification and entry verification, we will collect your personal information in accordance with the privacy policy of this site to the extent permitted by the above-mentioned purposes and applicable laws.
During the submission stage, you will only be required to provide information about your registered account (including your username, country/region, email address or cell phone number), a title within 100 letters and a caption within 1000 letters for each entry you submit. The username, email address, and cell phone number are used to contact you in a timely manner and to issue prizes. After the competition, the organizer will verify the registration information of the winners. If you cannot be contacted due to incomplete or incorrect personal information, which affects the issuance of prizes, the winners will be deemed to have automatically forfeited their right to win, and the organizer will not reissue the prizes.

Judging rules
After the submission deadline, the organizing committee and the preliminary panel of judges will select outstanding entries to advance to Round 2.
Judging criteria
Demonstrates the outstanding performance of mobile photography
Creative and thoughtfully composed images, and engaging content that is easily shareable
Winner notification
After the final submission deadline (June 15, 2024), the organising committee and the panel of judges will select outstanding final entries that meet the judging criteria. After the final selection, we will contact the winners by phone, SMS or email. We will also publish the list of winners on the official OPPO imagine IF India website and OPPO India’s official social media account. The winners of round 1 will be announced at the end of June, please refer to the official website for more details.
After the announcement of the round 1 winners, OPPO will further confirm all the relevant information again. After OPPO contacts the winners, they must submit the original files taken, fill in the documents about personal information, copyright statement of the work, authorization of the work, etc., and sign the documents, scan and return them by email. 
We will collect your personal information and the purpose of doing so: Name, cell phone number, email address, and OPPO account ID will be collected when entrants submit their entries. We will store the above personal information within India for the shortest period of time necessary for the purposes you authorise, unless required by law or you otherwise authorise us to agree to a longer retention period. For more information, please refer to the privacy policy on the OPPO imagine IF India website. If an entrant’s entry wins, we will contact the entrant via phone number or email. The information collected above will be removed quickly after use and will not be kept.
The decision of the Judges and the Organizing committee will be final in all respect and will not be open to any contest or scrutiny.
Prize acceptance
Winners must be willing to provide necessary information for prize delivery and participate in promotional activities related to the competition.
All prizes are subject to tax laws as applicable. 
Disqualification
Entries that violate the competition rules or fail to meet the eligibility criteria may be disqualified. The decision of the Judges and the Organizing committee will be final and not subject to any contest or scrutiny.
Copyright of the entries
The entrant shall have the right of authorship, and the copyright of the work shall remain that of the entrant.
By entering, participants warrant and represent the following: (a) each participant is the sole and exclusive owner of the submission; (b) participants’ submissions will not infringe on any rights of any proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, industrial property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, trade names, industrial designs, patent, trade secret, privacy, publicity or confidentiality obligations; (c) any third parties appearing in the submissions have given participants appropriate consent to be photographed and used as permitted herein; (d) submissions shall not violate any applicable laws.
All entrants shall be deemed to agree with this clause. All legal responsibilities for any disputes arising from the above guarantee shall be borne by the entrant himself/herself and shall have nothing to do with the participating platform and the contest organizer.
By entering the competition, the entrant agrees and authorizes the organizer to use the submitted entries for promotional activities related to the competition without any compensation, including but not limited to using the entries in online media, print media, print, photography exhibitions, retail stores, road shows, and other activities, etc. There is no geographical limit on the scope of use. The organizer is also authorized to modify and crop the photos. The organizer is not required to notify the entrant or obtain the entrant’s consent to use the entry. The organizer includes OPPO Mobiles India Pvt Ltd, and its affiliated companies, strategic partners, etc.
The winning participants provide an irrevocable and free authorization to the organizers and their affiliates, partners, and submission platforms to exercise the global intellectual property rights of the award-winning photos (including all elements of the photos such as character portraits, etc.), including but not limited to the Right of Dissemination via Information Network, Right of Reproduction, Right of Alteration, Right of Adaptation, Right of Compilation, and other copyrights for commercial and non-commercial purposes from the date of the announcement of the competition, non-exclusively. The authorization period is one year from the date of announcement of the winners. Furthermore, the organizers and their affiliates, partners, and submission platforms are given the authority to repost, reproduce, adapt, compile, exhibit, distribute, print, display, publish, and create derivative works of the award-winning photos for commercial and non-commercial purposes, as well as to add corporate logos, commercial identifiers, and other necessary promotional features to the award-winning photos to promote and advertise the competition. Upon expiration of the authorization period, the organizers, their affiliates, partners, and submission platforms are not required to remove or delete any promotional materials based on the use of the award-winning photos under these provisions.

By submitting an entry, the entrant agrees that if the entry wins any award in the competition, it grants the organizer permission to use the entry for commercial distribution, and the entrant retains all rights to the entry.

1. What is the format of the photography contest?
The contest comprises two rounds. In the first round, participants can use any of the listed 9 categories to send multiple entries. Entries are open for all smartphone users. Those advancing to the second round will receive OPPO phones to capture their entries.
2. Can I use any smartphone for the first round?
Yes, participants can use any mobile device for their submissions, in the first round.  For the second round, we’ll be providing the OPPO devices to the selected participants.
3. Can I use a DSLR camera for the competition?
The competition pertains specifically to smartphone photography content, and therefore, the use of DSLR cameras is prohibited. 
4. Are there any specific categories for each round?
Categories for each round will be announced with the respective contest guidelines. Participants need to ensure that their submissions adhere to the categories.
5. Can I submit multiple photos?
Yes, multiple entries can be submitted as per various categories. In Round 1, participants can submit entries as per various categories. Each participant can submit up to 13 photos in each category.
6. How will winners be selected in each round?
Winners will be chosen by the jury based on the pre-defined judging criteria.
7. When will the winners be announced?
The winners of round 1 will be announced at the end of June. The winners, duly informed individually and through email, SMS & platform, shall progress to the second round.
8. Can I participate if I am not an experienced photographer?
Yes. The contest is open to photographers of all skill levels.
9. How do I submit my entries?
To submit entries on the OPPO imagine IF India website, participants need to create/log-in to their account and fill the submission form. By entering the competition, entrants accept and agree to the privacy policy on the official OPPO Imagine IF India website. 
10. Is there an entry fee?
No fee is required for participation in the contest. Participants are only required to adhere to the contest guidelines and submit their entries in accordance with the instructions provided.
11. Can I edit my photos before submitting them?
The photos should not be altered in any desktop image processing program such as Photoshop and Lightroom. 13. Am I eligible for both India and Global Awards?
Yes, when you submit your entry to India Awards, your entry is automatically submitted to the Global Awards as well. So, you stand a chance to win both Awards in case you are selected as a winner in both India and Global Awards.
It might also be possible that you do not win in India Awards, but your entry wins in Global Awards. In this case, you will only receive the Global Awards as appropriate.
14. What is the eligibility for Weekly Awards?
The weekly Awards are only open for “Shot On OPPO” images. From the image data provided by you, we will only pick the winners for weekly awards that are shot using an OPPO device.
15. How soon will I receive my award if I win?
The exact timelines and process for receiving your awards will be communicated directly to the winners. Please ensure that you furnish correct contact details for communications.
